Ohio Roars and Cornett Enterprise are two companies owned and operated by Doug and Mattie.
Doug:
I was born in the small community known as Dry Fork near Whitesburg, Kentucky in September 1943. I grew up under the care of a father who worked for the L & N Railroad and a mother who cared for the home. She also assisted my father in running a small farm. My interests from an early age were classic cars and collecting antiques of all types. When not looking for old pickups, classic autos and seraching for old furniture I am found writing "short" stories. These stories surround my boyhood experiences and mountain lore.
Mattie:
I was born in Bellefontaine, OH where my grandfather was treasurer of Logan County. My father was also born in Bellefontaine and my mother in Quincy, OH. Our family ended up in Cincinnati, OH where I attended the University of Cincinnati. I have worked from the age of 15, most of the time two full-time jobs. Since retiring from LexisNexis of 14 years, I currently work for a local State Farm agent in Xenia, OH. I have one daughter, married, and a 16 year old grandson. I am Doug's sidekick looking for old pickups, furniture, and other antiques and collectibles.
A special God bless to our service men and women.
